On Wednesday, May 24 2017, Tammy Mainwaring, President of IT-oLogy spoke to the Columbia Capital Rotary Club. Tammy is an innovative IT leader with almost 30 years of IT management and teaching experience. Tammy has been successful in government, corporate and non-profit leadership. Her areas of expertise include education, change management, project management and community service.

Tammy began her career as a public school teacher in Cheraw, SC. She moved to Columbia in 2001 to take the job of Educatonal Technology Director for the South Carolina Department of Education. She then held positions of leadership with the SC Chief Information Office and Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC. Tammy’s career has come full circle as President of IT-oLogy. In her role, she has returned to her initial calling of being an educator and giving back to the community.

Tammy’s work has been featured in publications such as CIO magazine and THE Education Journal. She has been recognized by the US Department of Education for her innovative work with assistive technologies and educational technology planning. She often speaks at national and local events.

Tammy has a Master’s Degree in Information Technology Management from the University of Wollongong in Australia and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of North Carolina. She also holds PMP, ITIL Expert, DDI Effective Facilitation and Master Teacher certifications. Tammy is committed to educating current and future IT heroes and growing IT talent in South Carolina.
